FARMINGTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MEETING
DECEMBER 13, 2005
PRESENT: Chairman Joan Funk, Vice-Chairman Paula Proulx, Selectmen Paul Parker, George Meyer, and Matt Scruton; Town Administrator Paul Weston, Town Planner Paul Esswein, Goodwin Library Trustees; Librarian Deborah Christie; Fire Chief Rich Fowler; Finance Administrator Pamela Merrill
GOODWIN LIBRARY BUDGET Librarian Deb Christie and the Trustees met with the Selectmen to review the proposed 2006 Goodwin Library budget, seeking an appropriation of $210,783. from the Town.
PLANNING AND CODE ENFORCEMENT BUDGETS Town Planner Paul Esswein reviewed the Planning and Code Enforcement Departmental budgets with the Board of Selectmen.
FIRE, AMBULANCE, AND CAPITAL OUTLAY BUDGETS Fire Chief Rich Fowler met with the Board to discuss the proposed budgets for the Fire and Ambulance Departments, as well as the purchase of two Fire Department vehicles under the Capital Outlay account. A letter (attached) from Todd Curry, President of Dover Motor Mart Fleet Maintenance, Inc. was reviewed at length concerning the status of Engine 2. The Board of Selectmen spent considerable time discussing balances within reserve funds, the state of disrepair of Engine 2, and the ambulance and fire departmental budgets.
PURCHASE OF SANDER Upon motion of Mr. Parker, Seconded by Chairman Funk, and 5 – 0 motion in favor, the Board of Selectmen voted to purchase a sander to be placed in the one-ton truck for $4,300. from Fairfield Equipment in Concord.
NON-PUBLIC SESSION Upon motion and a second, the Board of Selectmen voted 5 – 0 in favor via a roll call vote (Funk, Proulx, Parker, Meyer, and Scruton all voting in favor) to go into a non-public session per RSA 91-A: 3(b) to discuss the hiring of a new Public Works Director.
At 9:10 PM the Selectmen voted unanimously to come out of the non-public session and to adjourn.
